Banbury West End had two matches this week, both in the Oxfordshire league. The first was a mens match against Bicester C which West End should have won or at least drawn, but ended up losing. Fist pair, Mike Robinson & Paul Derbyshire beat the Bicester 2nd pair and only just lost to the 1st pair. The BWE 2nd pair Doug Wade and Jeremy Turner could only halve against the Bicester 2nd pair, and were well beaten by the 1st pair. A bad 3-5 loss for West End.

The second match was much more successful. This was a ladies match against Woodstock B team. 1st pair Alison Goult and Andi Padbury beat the Woodstock 1st pair 6-4, 6-4 and also beat the 2nd pair 6-3, 6-3. West End 2nd pair, Rosie Clarke and Claire Oldfield had a really good afternoon considering they had never played together before. They halved with the Woodstock 1st pair 6-4, 2-6 and beat the 2nd pair 6-4, 6-1. This was an excellent 7-1 result for the ladies team.
